Pope Francis was a tireless advocate for unity and dignity, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Constantinos Kombos, said in his message in the book of condolences opened by the Embassy of the Holy See in Cyprus for the Pontiff’s death on Wednesday. He also pointed out that the late Pope’s legacy of compassion, justice and interfaith dialogue will endure as a beacon for future generations. 

In his message, Kombos noted that the passing of Pope Francis “has brought sadness to all of us,” adding that the deceased Pontiff was “a tireless advocate for unity and dignity, who championed peace, justice and unity among people of all faiths.” 

He also expressed the sincere condolences of the Government and the people of the Republic of Cyprus to the Holy See “for the loss of a great spiritual leader.”

“The loss of His Holiness Pope Francis is deeply felt across the world. His legacy of compassion, justice and interfaith dialogue will endure as a beacon for future generations,” he concluded.
