Parliament adopts decision to deploy VCG troops to NSATU mission

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Parliament of Montenegro adopted on Wednesday a decision to deploy members of the Montenegrin Armed Forces (VCG) to the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine mission.

The VCG members will be deployed to the NATO mission aimed at providing security assistance and training for Ukraine (NSATU).

A total of 44 MPs voted in favor of the decision, five were against, and two abstained.

Defense Minister Dragan Krapovic explained on Monday, during the Parliament session, that NSATU will have a command for planning, organizing and coordinating the provision of security assistance, with around 700 personnel from NATO member states and certain partner countries, and will be located in Wiesbaden, Germany.

He said that it would be optimal to engage up to two members of the VCG in that mission.
