Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Sahmanovic, cooperation with the World Bank (WB) in improving energy efficiency, particularly in public institutions, is producing measurable results, with investments directly contributing to better services for citizens.
At a meeting with World Bank representatives, he said that a just transition is a top priority on the Government’s agenda and one of its most important objectives.
“Cooperation with the World Bank adds momentum to achieving this goal, and I expect such projects to continue and expand further,” Sahmanovic said.
The meeting focused on joint projects aimed at increasing energy efficiency in public buildings, with a special emphasis on a new phase of investments in the University of Montenegro’s facilities, as well as improving the operational efficiency of Montenegro’s electricity distribution network.
On behalf of the World Bank, the meeting was attended by senior energy economist Katharina Gassner, senior energy specialist Yuriy Myroshnychenko, portfolio coordinator Denis Mesihović, and consultant Talis Tebecis.
