ZAGREB, 24 Jan (Hina) -В This year’s Museum Night, which will be held on Friday, 26 January, with the theme “Museums and a new audience”, will bring together 258 institutions, which will stage about 600 activities in 134 cities across Croatia, with visitors being able to attend them from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
“Considering the previous years, this is a nice number. Out of 619 events, there are about a hundred exhibitions, 81 workshops, 22 playrooms, 52 music programs, 44 lectures, 58 guided tours, and 48 promotions of books, monographs, catalogs,” Croatian Museum Society president Vlasta Krklec said on Wednesday on behalf of the organizers.
Krklec announced a rich program for all age groups. In Zagreb alone, where the public transit company ZET will provide free transportation on that occasion, events will be held at 37 locations, and museums that are closed will participate with virtual content.
She added that every year, in addition to museums and galleries, other heritage institutions, libraries, archives, schools, city pharmacies, clinics, universities, kindergartens, ethno-houses, tourist boards, nature parks join the event.
Krklec noted that last year, a total of 250,000 visitors were recorded in just a few hours.
