Minister Helez receives the newly appointed military attaché of Bulgaria on an inaugural visit

The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zukan Helez, together with his deputy Aleksandar Goganović, today received the newly appointed military attaché of Bulgaria in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brigadier Dian Dakov.

The interlocutors discussed bilateral military cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria, as well as possibilities for expanding that cooperation. It was mutually noted that BiH and Bulgaria maintain good friendly relations and that any cooperation between the armed forces of both countries is welcome.

Helez stated that Bulgaria, as a member of NATO and the European Union, will always be an important partner for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“That is why we are counting on your support as a friendly country on our Euro-Atlantic path. We are also grateful to Bulgaria for contributing to the stability of our country by having its soldiers in the EUFOR mission,” added Minister Helez.

In his address, Brigadier Dakov emphasized that Bulgaria fully supports Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path toward Euro-Atlantic integration and expressed his country’s readiness to provide any necessary assistance toward that goal.

He highlighted areas of potential cooperation, including military education, the exchange of experiences in peacekeeping operations, and the development of logistics systems and counterterrorism efforts.
