President of the European Council Charles Michel will pay an official visit to Montenegro on 2 and 3 July, at the invitation of Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic.
According to the press release from Milatovic’s office, Michel’s visit comes in the light of the forthcoming Intergovernmental conference between Montenegro and the EU and with the aim to highlight Montenegro’s European perspective.
“And its progress on European path, receiving the Interim Benchmark Assessment Report (IBAR) for chapters 23 and 24, but also the continuation of the reform processes”, the press release announces.
They add that Michel’s visit represents an important step in strengthening the ties between Montenegro and the EU at the political and economic plan, but also further confirms the country’s commitment to more decisively continue towards the full-fledged EU membership.
