According to Turkish Ambassador to Podgorica Baris Kalkavan, Turkiye is the third-largest investor in Montenegro, with many Turkish citizens investing in the Montenegrin economy and engaging in entrepreneurship.
Kalkavan and Commercial Attaché Erdal Karaomeroglu visited the Administration for Inspection Affairs on Thursday and had a constructive meeting with director of this authority Ana Vujosevic.
Vujosevic expressed particular satisfaction with the increasing number of Turkish citizens coming to Montenegro, especially their growing investments in coastal municipalities.
Kalkavan highlighted awareness of issues regarding the violation of intellectual property rights laws, especially in coastal municipalities such as Kotor and Budva.
It was concluded that close cooperation was necessary through the exchange of information and highlighted the importance of advisory and educational roles of bodies such as the Administration for Inspection Affairs in this situation.
It was generally agreed to initiate a meeting between Turkish businessmen and representatives of the Administration for Inspection Affairs, the Employers Federation, the Chamber of Commerce, and local administrations, where they will have the opportunity to ask specific questions regarding business activities and obligations in all economic sectors.
