TIRANA, May 2/ATA/ The “Lissus” ship rescued 36 immigrants who were at risk of getting drowned.
The Albanian Navy reported that during the early hours of Wednesday morning, the “Lissus” ship, which is on a NATO mission, was involved in a search and rescue operation in the Aegean Sea.
The dingy boat with immigrants had left Turkey and was navigating toward Greece. The “Lissus” ship coordinated its actions with the Coast Guards of Greece and Turkey and finally it was succeeded to save 36 immigrants, including children, with nationalities from Sudan, Liberia and Yemen.
The migrants, 18 men, 14 women and 4 children were in good health and were taken by the Turkish Coast Guard for further handling.
