In 2030, Kosovo will be one of the largest international sports centers as it will host the Mediterranean Games. When it comes to organizing the Mediterranean Games by Kosovo, from an infrastructure perspective, a package of investments has been promised to meet international sports standards and to ensure good conditions for athletes and spectators.

But what has Kosovo really promised in terms of infrastructure to the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games?

According to the Ministry of Finance, there will be public investments of more than 250 million euros for sports infrastructure: stadiums, swimming pools, gyms, etc.

Renovations and new constructions. 27 stadiums (renovated or new) are planned across Kosovo.

Construction of the national stadium in Pristina. This stadium is a key part of the plan for the Games.

Construction of an Olympic complex with a swimming pool. Construction of a tennis complex and a new field for specific sports.

Improvement of existing facilities. 10 sports facilities will be renovated, including the Palace of Youth and Sports.

There are also plans for training centers and regional sports facilities in different cities.

“Mediterranean Village” center. The Student Center in Pristina will be used as the “Mediterranean Village” during the Mediterranean Games.

Expansion/renovation of this center is planned to accommodate athletes and delegations.

International financing and studies. Feasibility studies for infrastructure investments are being conducted, and discussions have been held with institutions such as the European Investment Bank (EIB) for technical support for the renovation of the Palace of Youth.

The Organizing Committee of the Mediterranean Games has already been established and is working on the organization.
