Kodheli Brothers and Kole Idromeno photo exhibition marks World Photography Day

TIRANA, Aug 20 /ATA/ – World Photography Day is a global event celebrated on August 19th each year to honor the art, craft, science, and history of photography and to acknowledge the contributions of photographers and the impact photography has on our lives by preserving moments and telling stories through images, according to The Economic Times. 

Two Frenchmen, Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce, developed the first photographic process in 1837, which was called ‘Daguerreotype’. 

The “Marubi” Museum in the city of Shkoder will mark the annual World Photography Day by hosting a series of events, including the Kodheli Brothers and Kole Idromeno photo exhibition. 

The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja that the exhibition opened its doors to the public on Monday evening at 19:00 hrs. 

“Marubi” National Museum of Photography opened in 2016 and has since organized a variety of photo exhibitions for the public, which have attracted a wide recognition. Marubi archive dates from 1856 to 1959 and it preserves more than 150 thousand negatives.
