Podgorica, (MINA) – The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MPNI) plans to create a database of all verified foreign diplomas, in order to improve record-keeping, said Minister Andjela Jaksic Stojanovic.

She said that the Ministry has intensified its efforts when it comes to reporting cases where there is a reason to suspect that diplomas are fake.

“The prosecution has no obligation to inform us about the outcomes, but we see from the media that we have the first prison sentences related to the use of forged educational document”, said Jaksic Stojanovic in an interview with the RTCG.

According to her, the MPNI changed the legal regulations to provide a stronger basis for more intensively dealing with the problem.

She praised the initiative of the University of Montenegro, which publishes the register of diplomas issued over the past five decades, the RTCG portal reports.

“My department also plans to create a database of all verified foreign diplomas and the certification process will be carried out electronically, so we will have much better records”, said the Minister.
