TIRANA, August 8/ATA/ The Academy of Sciences of Albania announced the call for participation in the International Scientific Conference “Development of national education and the Albanian language”.

The call is made for participation with a scientific contribution. Proposals can be sent directly to the address of the scientific-organizing committee or to the Academy of Sciences which will support the participants in the conference that will take place during the month of November, in the premises of the Alphabet Museum in Manastir (Bitola, North Macedonia).

This conference is held in the framework of activities to mark the anniversary of the historical Congress of Manastir and the official holiday of the Albanian language in North Macedonia.

The year 2024 in Albania has been declared the “Year of the Albanian language”: November 22, the last day of the Congress of Manastir, has been declared an official Albanian holiday.

During the days of the activity, the Academy of Sciences will publicly present for the first time (in Tirana) the accomplished major scientific project, the “Big Albanian Dictionary”.

The Academy of Sciences of Albania is co-organizer of the activity. The Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of Albanians in North Macedonia and the Language Implementation Agency are in the role of hosts and main organizers, with the participation of several universities in Albania and North Macedonia.
