TIRANA, Jan 25 /ATA/ – Foreign tourist arrivals to Albania rose 34.6% year-on-year to a total of   10.155.640 visitors in 2023, data from the National Institute of Statistics, INSTAT, showed on Thursday.

According to the INSTAT Report, Albania saw a notable increase in visitors from many European countries, with their number estimated at 9.727.538 visitors, followed by visitors from America and East Asia/ Pacific region with 240.925 and 66.689 tourists respectively.

The number of visitors for personal purposes went up by 34.9% compared to 2022, for vacation or for other recreational purposes rose 35%; for business and professional purposes increased by 17.6 %.

A total of 616.994 foreign national entered the territory of Albania in December 2023 alone, recording 57.6% increase compared to the same period of 2022.

Similarly, the number of Albanian citizens departing from Albania was estimated at 6.913.347, up by 17.5% compared to 2022.
