ZAGREB, 2 May (Hina) – Consumer prices in Croatia, measured by the consumer price index, were on average 3.1% higher in April 2025 compared to April 2024, according to a flash estimate released by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) on Friday. On a monthly basis, prices were up 0.6%.
This continues the downward trend in year-on-year inflation, which stood at 4% in January, 3.7% in February and 3.2% in March.
The estimated annual inflation rate in April was 6.1% for services, 4.1% for food, beverages and tobacco, 1.1% for energy, and 0.3% for non-energy industrial goods.
On a monthly level, prices rose by 1.7% for non-energy industrial goods, 0.8% for services and 0.4% for food, beverages and tobacco. In contrast, energy prices fell by 1.1%.
According to the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices, the standard measure used across the EU,В prices in Croatia in April 2025 were 3.9% higher year-on-year and 0.7% higher month-on-month.
Croatia remains among the euro area countries with the highest inflation. In April, Estonia recorded the highest annual inflation at 4.4%, followed by Latvia and the Netherlands at 4.1%, and Slovakia matched Croatiaв’s 3.9%. Other euro area members reported lower inflation rates.
