Income from gross written insurance premiums amounted to ALL 13.1 billion

Income from gross written insurance premiums for the period January-July 2023 amounted to ALL 13.1 billion, or 11.22% more than in the period January-July 2022.

According to the report published by the Financial Supervision Authority (AMF), during the January-July period of this year, the number of concluded insurance contracts reached 794,312 with an increase of 12.58% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The data show that the market remains oriented towards non-life insurance, which brought 92.02% of the total volume of premiums. While life insurance constitute 7.90% and reinsurance 0.08%.

From the point of view of market division according to the type of insurance, compulsory and voluntary, the gross written premiums of voluntary insurance account for 42.92% and the gross written premiums of compulsory insurance account for 57.08% of the total market.

During the month of January-July 2023, gross paid claims in the insurance market reached about 3,919 million ALL, or 5.43% more than in the month of January-July 2022.

The gross paid damages in motor insurance for the month of January-July 2023 reached the value of 2,829 million ALL, recording an increase of about 12.25% compared to the same period of the previous year.
