Podgorica, (MINA) – Excellent cooperation with the USA in the field of defense is important for Montenegro, while further improvement of this cooperation is one of the key interests of the country, said Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic.

According to the press release from his office, Milatovic met on Monday with Assistant US State Secretary for European and Euro-Asian Affairs James O’Brien.

The press release adds that the collocutors confirmed excellent and partner relations between Montenegro and the USA.

Milatovic underscored that the USA is the important ally and a friend of Montenegro in the international scene and underscored that the presence of the USA is the key stability factor in the region.

He emphasized that the EU integration process represents the main priority of the Montenegrin foreign policy.

Milatovic also recalled important results Montenegro delivered in the previous period in this regard and thanked to the USA for the continuous support.
