Greek President Sakellaropoulou inaugurates renovated archaeological museum of Delos

President of the Hellenic Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou, inaugurated the renovated Archaeological Museum on the island of Delos on Friday.

Sakellaropoulou toured the archaeological site and visited the Mykonos Archaeological Museum where she addressed the official presentation of the Delos museum’s renovation and the new exhibition “Delos – Reinia – Mykonos: Images from 150 Years of Archaeological Research.”

The exhibition is a collaborative effort organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Cyclades Antiquities Authority, the French School at Athens and the Municipality of Mykonos. In her speech, Sakellaropoulou described the ongoing archaeological endeavors on Delos as a grand adventure that has unfolded over decades. She highlighted the collaborative efforts of renowned archaeologists and local villagers, including workers from Mykonos and neighboring islands, who have all labored diligently to uncover the island’s treasures.
