Greece believes firmly that the European family should integrate the W. Balkan countries, says FM Gerapetritis

Greece remains loyal and committed to the principles of the 2003 Thessaloniki Declaration, noted Foreign Affairs Minister George Gerapetritis in his speech at the 7th Thessaloniki Summit on Tuesday.

The “realization of the European ambitions of Western Balkan countries is particularly important,” he said, “but the European Union must show the political will to bring the Western Balkan countries into the European family, and these countries must also incorporate the European acquis in the technical parts.”

Greece firmly believes in the political position that the European family should integrate the Western Balkans, reiterated the minister, but the conditions required “for a European Union which will be strong, resilient, inclusive, and revitalized” should also be met, he pointed out.
