The Government today adopted the Information on the requests of the Elektroprivreda (EPCG) for the executive authority’s approval of long-term borrowing from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
“It concerns a long-term loan in the amount of €25.63 million from the EBRD, for the implementation of the second phase of the Gvozd 2 wind power plant project, with an installed capacity of 21 megawatts (MW),” the Government’s statement said.
The Government also adopted a decree repealing the decree on the manner of acquiring the status and exercising the rights of a privileged electricity producer. Given that the existing decree on acquiring the status and exercising the rights of a privileged electricity producer was adopted based on the previous law, it is no longer aligned with the new normative solutions.
As explained, Article 43, paragraph 7 of the Law on the Use of Energy from Renewable Sources explicitly stipulates that this matter shall henceforth be regulated by a rulebook issued by the minister responsible for energy affairs.
“It is necessary to repeal the existing decree in order to create conditions for adopting a new rulebook that will regulate the procedure for acquiring status and exercising the rights of a privileged producer in a precise and legally harmonized manner, in accordance with the current legislative framework,” the Government stated.
