Greece’s leading position in the tourism sector was reaffirmed during the “Around the World” travel roadshow held in the Baltic countries, as well as at the International Tourism Exhibition “TTG Travel Experience 2025” in Italy, both attended by the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO), according to an official announcement.
The “ Around the World” Roadshow was organised by Aviareps in Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia), and Vilnius (Lithuania) from October 7 to 9, 2025.
In each of the host cities, more than 30 local representatives from travel agencies, airlines, and DMCs were informed about lesser-known Greek destinations – not yet widely familiar to the general travelling public in those countries – as well as about Greece’s broader, multifaceted, and sustainable tourism product, which aligns perfectly with the preferences of travellers from this part of Europe.
It is noted that Greece ranks among the top three most popular destinations in the Baltic markets, alongside Spain and Turkiye.
At the same time, the strong interest of Italian tour operators in expanding travel packages to Greek destinations – and of Italian media representatives in visiting Greece through press trips – was evident during the “TTG Travel Experience 2025” International Tourism Exhibition, held in Rimini from October 8 to 10, 2025, with the participation of the GNTO office in Italy and 13 Greek co-exhibitors.
During the exhibition, the Head of the GNTO Office in Italy, Kyriaki Boulasidou, met with the leadership of the Italian Association of Travel Agencies (FIAVET) to plan further synergies between the GNTO and the Association, aiming to promote Greek destinations more effectively in the Italian market ahead of the upcoming tourist season.
At the same time, a large number of pre-arranged B2B meetings took place between Greek participants and Italian tour operators, travel agents, and journalists. A networking dinner hosted by the GNTO Office in Italy also offered an excellent opportunity to expand cooperation between the two sides.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Boulasidou was elected President of the Association of National Tourism Organisations based in Italy (ADUTEI) – a development that significantly strengthened Greece’s and the GNTO’s influence within Italy’s tourism industry, according to the same announcement.
