TIRANA, Dec 29 /ATA/ Foreign direct investments (FDI) in the country reached 1.21 billion euros in the first nine months of 2025.
According to data published by the Bank of Albania, the value of foreign direct investments has increased by 4% compared to the same period last year, reflecting the continued interest of foreign investors in the Albanian economy.
According to the statistics, the real estate sector continues to lead foreign investments for the fourth consecutive year. In the third quarter of 2025, foreign investments in real estate reached 150 million euros, 70% more compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
For the entire 9-month period of 2025, foreign investments in real estate were valued at 403 million euros, marking a 50% increase compared to the same period last year.
After real estate, the financial sector ranks second in terms of the value of foreign investments. For the 9-month period of 2025, foreign investments in financial and insurance activities reached 219 million euros, an increase of 6.3% compared to the same period last year.
The Bank of Albania emphasizes that the growth of investments in the financial sector in recent years has mainly been linked to the increase in capital and new investments by existing enterprises operating in the market, a factor that has contributed to the growth of the country’s economy.
