Bulgarian artists Givko “Gissen” Tenev, Valentin Georgiev, Maya Cholakova, and Alla and Chavdar Georgiev are featured in an international exhibition in Saudi Arabia, artist Gissen told the Bulgarian News Agency.

The exhibition of environmental cartoons was organized by the Environmental Awareness Initiative of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and is part of the Environmental Ambassadors programme.

The exhibition is the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia. It is focused on the environment, waste management and public presentation, pollution and air quality, marine pollution, soil pollution, vegetation and afforestation, deforestation, biodiversity, and resource and waste consumption, among others, according to Gissen’s team.

Gissen has served as editorial artist for Antenneair.eu since the news site was founded 20 years ago. Over the past 25 years, he has held more than 180 solo exhibitions spanning painting, graphic art, caricature, poster design and photography. His recent exhibitions have become part of the Gissen museum, which holds more than 4,000 artworks.
