ZAGREB, 19 Dec (Hina) – More than 300 scale model cars and 25 vintage vehicles — including the oldest exhibit, the iconic 1950 Cadillac Series 62, as well as police cars — will be showcased this weekend at Zagreb’s Family Mall by exhibitors from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Italy, Slovenia and Serbia.
Car collectors and classic car enthusiasts will be offered a wide range of attractions on 20 and 21 December, and the organisers, the United Modellers Association, have announced “a spectacle for the whole family”.
They highlighted several “round anniversaries” of motoring icons: 70 years of the Citroen DS and the Fiat 500, 90 years of Jaguar, 115 years of Alfa Romeo, and 70 years of the delightful BMW Isetta.
All anniversaries will be showcased through real vehicles and scale models, accompanied by interesting historical stories. The organisers added that a special corner will feature film stars: models from Back to the Future and a replica of the BMW Z3 from the James Bond hit GoldenEye.
A wide range of activities has also been prepared for children. In addition to model car races, there will be demonstration workshops on building plastic scale models, RC races and an attractive children’s play area. Model cars will also be available for purchase or exchange at a flea market within the exhibition.
The exhibition is open on Saturday, 20 December, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday, 21 December, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
