Elegie piece, composed by King Mihai I, performed in national tour “Romanian Young Virtuosos”

Musicians and people of culture are coming together in the national tour “Romanian Young Virtuosos”, organized by the Association for Music, Art and Culture, to pay homage to Romanian composers in a project that presents lesser known and performed pieces.

According to a press release sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday, the tour will take place from October 3 to 11 in Bucharest, Brasov, Sinaia, Oradea and Timisoara.

The musicians who will participate in the tour are Rodica Vica – soprano (Austria/Romania), Martiniana Antonie – mezzo-soprano (Germany/Romania), Stefan Cazacu – cellist (Romania), Diana Ionescu – pianist (Romania), Vlad Maistorovici – composer (Romania) and journalist Dana Deac.

A unique moment of the tour is the performance by pianist Diana Ionescu of “Elegie”, composed by King Mihai I of Romania at the age of 20 and dedicated to Queen Ana.

“The piece, less known to the general public, offers a profound artistic perspective on the sovereign who, although known mainly for his political and historical role, also had a talent for music,” the press release states.

A novelty of this tour is also the cycle of three pieces for voice, cello and piano specially composed by the musician Vlad Maistorovici, on lyrics by Noemi Marin

The program includes pieces by George Enescu, George Stephanescu, Tiberiu Brediceanu, Gherase Dendrino, Paul Constantinescu.

Through the “Romanian Young Virtuosos” project, the Association for Music, Art and Culture aims to inspire the young generation and promote the national musical heritage, offering an unforgettable artistic experience to the Romanian public.
