The winner of the Olympic gold medal, Distria Krasniqi, has secured Kosovo a medal from the European Judo Championship, which is being held in Montpellier, France.

In the category up to 52 kilograms, Distria defeated the Italian judoka, Odette Giuffrida, in the semi-finals, KosovaPress reports.

Meanwhile, until the final, Krasniqi passed the first round without a fight, in the second she defeated the Croatian, Ana Viktorija Puljiz, while in the quarterfinals she won against the judoka from Azerbaijan, Gultaj Mammadaliyeva.

Distria continued with victory in the semi-finals, defeating the Italian Odette Giuffrida.

In the final, Krasniqi will face the judoka from France, Amandine Bouchard.
