Dep FM Kotsiras participates in the Ministerial meeting of the “Friends of the Western Balkans”
Deputy Foreign Minister Giorgos Kotsiras took part in the Ministerial meeting of the “Friends of the Western Balkans” (Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Slovakia and Greece) and of the countries of the Western Balkans, in the presence of EU High Representative for foreign affairs and security policy and vice president of the European Commission Kaja Kallas and EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
The meeting focused on the acceleration of the Western Balkans progress toward accession and the strengthening of cooperation in the security sector.
“In today’s fluid geopolitical environment, our homeland is a pillar of security and stability with increased diplomatic capital. Greece, as I mentioned in my interventions, firmly supports the accession process of the Western Balkans, always, of course, on condition of the full adoption by the candidate countries of the European acquis and an unwavering respect for the rule of law and of international Law,” Kotsiras said in a post on Tuesday.
