National Defence Minister Nikos Dendias congratulated the Armed Forces for the successful drop of 8.5 tonnes of humanitarian aid over Gaza, in a post on the social media platform X on Sunday.

He noted that the operation, arranged through the cooperation of the Greek national defence and foreign affairs ministries with Jordanian authorities, was “carried out with the participation of two transport planes (C-130H and C-27J) of our Air Force with the associated personnel, as well as personnel of the Special Warfare Command.”

“The operation was constantly monitored in real time by the National Operations Centre. Our Armed Forces are present at every effort to alleviate human suffering,” Dendias added.
