Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias was the keynote speaker at the opening session of the Greek-British Symposium 2025, held on Friday at Jesus College, University of Cambridge, in the UK. The event focused on the theme: “ Greece and the United Kingdom – partners in an age of uncertainty.”
Dendias underscored the significance of collaboration between Greece and the United Kingdom in vital sectors such as research, production, and technology. “ In this changing world, no state, no matter how powerful, can face these challenges alone,” he said.
Highlighting the historic and value-based ties between the two countries, Dendias stressed the importance of a shared perspective in navigating an increasingly unpredictable global landscape. “ They should share a common view of the world,” he noted.
Dendias also expressed pride in the bilateral framework agreement, stating, “ I am proud that this agreement between Greece and the UK bears my signature. And it’s not just a formality, I strongly believe in this friendship. But it is something we have to work on together.”
As part of his visit to the UK, Dendias visited the Imperial War Museum Duxford Airfield. In a post on X, he said he was shown around by its director Caro Howell.
