Cyprus and the Kyrgyz Republic signed a Memorandum of Understanding on political consultations, aiming to deepen the institutional framework for the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The MoU was signed by the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs Constantinos Kombos and Kulubaev Zheenbek Moldokanovich, Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan in New York on Wednesday, in the context of the High-Level Week of the 79th UN General Assembly, a Foreign Affairs Ministry press release issued here today says.
The signing of the MoU is an example of the two sides’ common will to deepen the institutional framework for bilateral cooperation, as well as the start for the signing of additional memoranda in fields of mutual interests, the press release said.
Also the MoU reflects the two countries’ political will to develop a mutually beneficial structured political dialogue, the press release adds.
Before the signing ceremony, the two Ministers held a meeting discussing bilateral relations between the two countries, the state of play in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Cyprus problem, as well as EU – Kyrgyz Republic relations.
