Craiova City Hall announced on Monday that it has decided to extend the Christmas Market by one week, until 11 January 2026.

According to the municipality, the decision was made following requests from tourism agencies.

‘Thus, those who have not yet visited the most beautiful Christmas market in Europe, according to the votes received in the competition organised by European Best Destinations, now have the opportunity to do so until Sunday, 11 January 2026. Visitors can (re)discover the most beautiful festive atmosphere, with spectacular decorations, unique themed chalets, an ice rink, a panoramic wheel, traditional products and sweets, seasonal drinks and gifts, as well as food trucks and more than two million lights, which have brought the Craiova Christmas Market international appreciation and popularity,’ Craiova City Hall said.

The Craiova Christmas Market is open daily, from Monday to Thursday between 13:00 and 22:00, and at weekends between 10:00 and 23:00. AGERPRES (RO – writing by: Maria Mitrica; EN – writing by: Simona Iacob)
