More than 43 percent of citizens believe that the political situation in Montenegro is moving in the wrong direction, and they recognize weak political leadership and external interference in internal politics as the most serious problems, the analysis carried out by the Association for Responsible and Sustainable Development (UZOR) has demonstrated.
The UZOR said that the analysis entitled “Montenegro: Zone of foreign influence” shows that 24.6 percent of citizens attribute the most positive influence on politics to the EU, and the biggest negative influence to Serbia – 14.2 percent.
“On the other hand, results of our analysis show that Serbia has the greatest positive impact on the economy of Montenegro (16.3 percent), while respondents see the greatest negative impact coming from Russia (11.6 percent)”, UZOR stated.
“As many as 45.3 per cent of citizens believe that we do not have fair and free election processes in Montenegro”, the press release states.
The UZOR said that the fact that almost 70 per cent of citizens believe that corruption in the government is a serious problem is particularly alarming.
“According to the citizens’s opinions, the most important security issue that Montenegro is currently facing is organized crime, identified as such by 35.9 per cent of the respondents”, the UZOR said.
