Charlie Ottley promotes Romania with the help of artificial intelligence

Tulcea, Feb 12 /Agerpres/ – British journalist Charlie Ottley, producer of the documentaries that have promoted Romania in the world, ‘Flavours of Romania’ and ‘Wild Carpathia’, has released two songs on social networks in which he uses artificial intelligence to draw attention to climate change.

The British journalist wrote the lyrics of the two songs himself, chose rock and country music for them, and, with the help of artificial intelligence, he combined the songs with images of Romania.

You can’t imagine what AI can do for someone who composes music. For me, it was a fantastic new way to explore how you can combine images of Romania with a song. I thought a country song about Romanian landscapes would be really interesting. The Americans sing about Nebraska, Route 666, the Grand Canyon, and I chose a western to attract, and the combination with Romanian landscapes is a new way to present the country, British journalist Charlie Ottley told AGERPRES.

In fact, the country music video has garnered the most views, over 160,000 in two weeks.

I didn’t know how the public would respond, because it is not traditional Romanian music. But Romanians grew up with Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, AC/DC, rock music and American westerns. I thought it would be interesting to create these videos with the music they loved as children, the music they grew up with and to add the images I have from Romania. The Diaspora shared the videos on social networks and gave their friends a chance to see Romania in a different way, said Charlie Ottley.

In one of the two videos, the British journalist rides his motorcycle on the pink shore of a lake.

I wanted to highlight one aspect of the new series which is global warming and the changes it brings. It’s a powerful image. It was one of the pristine wetlands and now it looks like a desert. It’s also a beautiful landscape with a big impact. The idea is to develop tourism. Romania has many similar, amazing places, said Charlie Ottley.

The British journalist is now working on a new documentary ‘Flavors of Romania and Republic of Moldova’ which will be released most probably at the end of September this year.

Charlie Ottley, a journalist, TV presenter, poet and film producer, is well known in Romania for his travel documentaries ‘Flavours of Romania’ and ‘Wild Carpathia’. In recognition of his efforts to promote tourism in our country, Charlie Ottley has received several awards, including from the Romanian Presidential Institution and the Royal House of Romania.
