The Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK) has approved its Cybersecurity Strategy for the period 2025–2028, marking a significant step toward strengthening the institution’s digital infrastructure protection.
The strategy has been developed in line with the CBK’s Strategic Plan and aims to establish a robust regulatory and supervisory framework to address the growing risks of cybersecurity.
The strategy adopts a comprehensive approach focused on capacity building, effective risk management, incident response, and continuous improvement of security mechanisms. It outlines clear objectives for protecting the CBK’s systems and data, as well as enhancing the resilience of its critical infrastructure.
A key component of the strategy is the three-year action plan, which includes concrete measures for its practical implementation. In drafting the strategy, assessments and recommendations from the World Bank and other international stakeholders were taken into consideration.
The CBK expressed its gratitude to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank for their support in strengthening institutional capacities and further developing the regulatory framework. Through this strategy, the CBK reaffirms its commitment to adopting the highest international cybersecurity standards and ensuring the country’s financial and institutional stability by effectively addressing cyber threats.
