By order of caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, the Bulgarian institutions are ready to assist Spain after the flash floods in the region of Valencia, the Government Information Service wrote on its Facebook page on Sunday. In case of a request for support from the authorities in Madrid, the civil protection mechanism will be activated immediately to provide the necessary assistance. The Bulgarian State can also provide tents, blankets and other necessities at short notice, the post reads.
In connection with the natural disaster in Spain, the Cabinet recalls that the Situation Centre of the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry operates round the clock to receive alerts and requests for assistance.
The recent flash floods in Spain have taken over 210 lives, according to the Spanish government’s latest data.
