BiH CoM adopts two key pieces of legislation on the path to European integration

SARAJEVO, December 17 (FENA) – The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted two key laws on the path to European integration during an extraordinary session today, announced the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, on her X profile.

The laws in question are the Law on Border Control and the Law on Personal Data Protection.

“An important step toward strengthening security and compliance with EU standards,” Krišto stated.

BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elmedin Konaković, made a statement after the drafts of the laws on border control and personal data protection were adopted at today’s extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers of BiH, stating that this marks another significant step towards the EU.

“These two laws are crucial for defining the negotiating framework and starting negotiations with the EU. The laws were agreed upon at the last meetings of leaders in Banja Luka and Mostar, and today the agreement was honored at the Council of Ministers. It’s much easier to be a populist, it’s easier to argue every day, but that brings nothing to the people of BiH. It’s harder to talk and negotiate, but we never chose the easier path. For our country and its people,” Konaković wrote on his Facebook account.
