The documentary film Bear With Me directed by Martin Genovski will have its world premiere at the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival, which is taking place between August 14 and 21. The film was selected for the festival’s documentary competition programme in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bulgarian National Film Center reported.

The film tells the story of a retired circus bear trainer who lives with her last surviving trainee in a parking lot near Amsterdam. Bear With Me combines archival footage with a contemporary perspective on a disappearing profession, raising questions about memory, the coexistence of humans and animals, and the price of freedom. The film was produced by Agitprop, in collaboration with Autentic, ZDF and ARTE, as well as with the support of the Bulgarian National Film Center.

Bear With Me is one of 22 films that were selected from 305 submissions for the festival’s documentary competition programme.
