Albania was elected as member of the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for 2023-2027, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani announced on Wednesday evening.
In a post on the social media, Foreign Minister Hasani thanked the member states that voted in favour of Albania.
“Great news from Paris: Albania just got elected as member of the Executive Board of UNESCO for 2023-2027. We thank all the member states that trusted us with this important responsibility and look forward to closely cooperate with all members of the Board, in the spirit of dialogue and consensus,” FM Hasani said.
“In a world divided by multiple crises, we need more than ever to invest in peace. UNESCO’s role is more indispensable than ever,” he said, praising also Albanian Ambassador to UNESCO, Besiana Kadare, and Albanian Diplomacy for the excellent work.
