Albania announces winners of 300 MW solar power auction

TIRANA, July 13 /ATA/ – Renewable companies “Solar park Gjoricë” sh.p.k, “Infotelecom” sh.p.k & Adame,” as well as the “Global Enerji San.Ve, Ticaret  A.S.”,  were declared winners at a 300 MW solar power auction two days ago, with lowest price offer at EUR 39.7 per MWh.

The companies had submitted a financial offer of EUR 39.7 per MWh out of a 59.97 per MWh starting price level set by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy.

The Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, also Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, said that “the auctions launched by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy since 2019 secure not only favourable prices for the Albanian state, but they also show transparency and the already confirmed international standards now being referred to as an example by other countries.”

“At the fourth consecutive solar power auction, Albania manages to gain a surprising energy price,” Balluku said.

“The transmission network will very soon be stretched in areas with the new facilities, so the ministry will produce a study in the coming months on the available transmission and distribution capacities, she revealed. That way it will determine where other solar and wind power plants can be built,”
