TIRANA, Feb 20 /ATA/ The Director of the National Agency for Information Society (AKSHI), Linda Karçanaj, is participating in the meeting of the Working Group on Security in Information and Communication Technology (OEWG) that is taking place in New York.
Karçanaj shared on social media highlights from the second day of the Working Group’s sessions, announcing that “Albania is an active participant in global initiatives for cybersecurity.”
In her speech at the meeting, Karçanaj informed the United Nations colleagues that Albania has adopted a new Cybersecurity Law, in alignment with EU and UN standards.
She outlined the steps taken by the government to deepen cooperation with international institutions in strengthening security.
“We have deepened cooperation with NATO, the EU, and the UN to strengthen cybersecurity and to prevent and respond to state-sponsored attacks. We have also established a Special Parliamentary Commission to combat disinformation and foreign interference. Accountability, transparency, and international cooperation are essential for a safe and trustworthy digital environment,” she stated.
“Albania is committed to contributing to a safer and more sustainable future for all, by promoting global peace and security,” said Karçanaj.
