Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to preliminary statistics released by Monstat, Montenegro saw 2.61 million tourist arrivals and 16.39 million overnight stays in 2023.

“Out of the total number of overnights, foreign tourists accounted for 96.3 percent and domestic ones for 3.7 percent,” stated a press release issued by Monstat.

Last year, 94.3 percent of the total number of nights was spent in the coastal region, two percent in the mountain regions, 2.4 percent in the Capital City, and 1.4 percent in other tourist destinations in Montenegro.

According to the Statistical Office, 1.18 million tourists stayed in the individual accommodation last year, while the number of overnight stays reached 11.26 million in this segment.
