Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Coalmine produced a total of 1.86 million tons of coal last year, eight percent more than in 2022.
“The total output was seven percent lower than planned last year,” stated the report on the energy balance for the last year, published by the Ministry of Energy and Mining.
As stated in the document, 1.64 million tons of coal were delivered to the Thermal Power Plant (TPP) Pljevlja which accounts for approximately 88 percent of the total output, while 18,780 tons were delivered to other consumers in Montenegro.
“A total of 205,080 tons of coal were exported, which accounts for approximately 11 percent of the total output,” stated the document.
The total turnover of petroleum products for consumption in Montenegro amounted to 375,620 tons last year, which is 14,460 or 3.7 percent less than planned.
“Compared to 2022, consumption increased by 6,440 tons or 1.75 percent. The largest increase in consumption wa recorded in heating oil and petrol 98/100. There was no consumption of petroleum coke due to the suspension of primary production at the Aluminium Plant (KAP), and there was also a certain decrease in consumption of other petroleum products,” the document reads.
Diesel accounts for the largest share of total consumption of petroleum products, approximately 77 percent, while fuel oil and petrol 98/100 account for the smallest shares, at 0.7 percent and 1.85 percent, respectively.
“The largest importer and distributor of diesel and petrol is Jugopetrol, with a share of approximately 64 percent in this category of petroleum products,” concludes the document.
