The Southern city of Gjirokastra is a year-round tourist destination. The Administration of Protected Areas Gjirokastra shared in the social media wonderful views of a natural monument such as Viroi.
“Natural values are an important part of the treasure of historical, architectural, cultural and culinary values of the UNESCO city.
“Spring of Water”, Viroi, Natural Monument is also a part of this necklace of values”, wrote Gjirokastra Administration.
Viroi is located 3 km away from the city, it is a karst spring with a flow of 17 m3/sec, the water originates from Mali i Gjere and comes from an apparent depth of 5-6 m. It has scientific, hydrological, didactic, sports and tourist values.
Administration of Protected Areas Gjirokastra has also shared photos taken underwater writing that they were sent by Polish divers who are the most frequent visitors to the deep corridors of this pearl of nature. /p.s./
