Victoria Palace of Government lights up in Belgian flag colors in sign of solidarity with Brussels attacks victims

The Victoria Palace of Government was lit up Thursday evening in the colors of the Belgian flag – black, yellow and red – in sign of solidarity with the victims of the terrorist attack in Brussels.

Thursday was declared a national day of mourning in Romania.

Global landmark buildings and tourist attractions were lit up on Tuesday in the Belgian national colors in a show of solidarity with the victims of the Brussels terror attack, news agency DPA reports.

The Eiffel Tower in Paris and Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate were illuminated in black, yellow and red.

In central Rome, Belgian flags were projected onto the Senatorial Palace on the Capitoline Hill.

Amsterdam honored the victims of the attack by swathing the royal palace in the Belgian colors, while Lisbon lit up its city hall.

The world’s tallest skyscraper — the Burj Khalifa in downtown Dubai — was also illuminated in memory of the victims killed in the attacks that have been claimed by the Islamic State extremist group. More…
