US Embassy concerned over parties that do not condemn Russian aggression and do not foster good neighborly relations joining the government
Podgorica, (MINA) – The U.S. Embassy is concerned about, as they said, the inclusion in the Government of the parties and leaders who do not condemn the Russian aggression against Ukraine, who oppose the EU sanctions against Russia and whose actions are contrary to the principle of good neighborly relations.
The Parliament supported at the Tuesday session the reshuffle of Milojko Spajic’s government, which now includes the New Serbian Democracy, the Democratic People’s Party and the Bosniak Party.
The Embassy told the Pobjeda daily that they support a government committed to EU accession, respect for Euro-Atlantic values and full participation in NATO, and which reflects the multicultural composition of Montenegro.
“We are concerned about the inclusion in the Government of the parties and leaders who do not condemn Russian aggression against Ukraine, oppose the EU’s sanctions against Russia, and whose actions are contrary to the principle of good neighborly relations”, the Embassy stated.
They called on the Government and MPs to stay focused on the common goal of joining the EU and avoid counterproductive maters that threaten that goal and cause divisions.
