US ambassador pays call at Victoria Palace

The United States’ Ambassador to Romania Hans Klemm arrived at Victoria Palace (the Govt’s offices) on Monday, where Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos has been since early in the day.

The U.S. official also met the Romanian prime minister at the Government’s headquarters on Friday and the U.S. Embassy later announced in a release that it had been a courtesy call.

“This morning Ambassador Hans Klemm paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos at Victoria Palace. Ambassador Klemm congratulated the Prime Minister on his appointment and the formation of the new government, offered his support, and emphasized that the United States of America will remain a close ally, strategic partner and friend of Romania”, the Embassy said in the release.

Ciolos scheduled an informal meeting with his ministers on the 2016 budget Monday afternoon.

Finance Minister Anca Dana Dragu also arrived at Victoria Palace. More…
