Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – After meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic said that Turkiye was one of Montenegro’s most important economic and strategic partners, with great development potential.
Milatovic who is paying an official visit to Turkey, was welcomed with the highest state and military honours at the Presidential Palace in Ankara, where he met with Erdogan.
According to a press release issued by his Office, Milatovic said that economic relations between Montenegro and Turkiye had been progressing each year.
“The inflow of direct investments from Turkey, which will reach nearly €100 million annually, and the dynamic trade exchange exceeding €200 million, testify to the mutual interest in intensifying economic cooperation,” Milatovic stated.
According to Milatovic, the number of Turkish tourists visiting Montenegro is growing every year, thanks to an increase in the number of direct flights and the improvement in the quality of Montenegro’s tourism products.
Milatovic thanked Turkiye for the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in the implementation of more than 500 development projects in Montenegro.
