Plisi, Hyjnesha në Fron, Sahat Kulla, Bjeshkët e Sharrit, these, and many other symbols are representing Kosovo as a nation, now they are also flavors.
From this patriotic feeling, Tog Chocolate was born, an idea that does not only aim to produce chocolate, but to tell the story of Kosovo through every piece and every detail, reports KosovaPress.
Thus, Tog, from the beginning, has not been seen simply as a business, but as a mission to promote Kosovo, to make it tangible and unforgettable.
While the idea was born in a conversation between two friends, advocates for the creation of unique products with women as a leading force.
Ardita Maxhuni, manager at Tog Chocolate, tells the economic show “Shtylla”, a production of KosovaPress, how Tog chocolates became a symbol representing Kosovo.

“The idea of Tog was born from a great love for chocolate, but also a strong feeling to promote our country… When Genta first told me about her idea, I immediately believed her and saw that it was something more than a business. It is a mission to show Kosovo even more beautiful, even more sustainable, and to prove to other women that they can make something very unique from our country”, says Maxhuni.
But what is the symbolic meaning of the name Tog?
“Tog Chocolate is a union for Toska and Gega. That is, it symbolizes our roots and identity… Every chocolate we make carries Kosovo, our taste and culture”, she emphasizes.
With the slogan “Sweets created to give life to your memories”, Tog aims for every visitor, but also every citizen of Kosovo, to take with them a piece of the homeland in taste and memories. This, being on sale also at the Pristina and Tirana airports.
The manager also shows the special features that each product has there.
“Our products are differentiated not only by quality, but also by the concept, the design as a whole…The main product, with love from Kosovo, has the Sharr Mountains, the Kosovo Museum, the clock tower, and the plis, which is synonymous with all Albanians. The product with love from Pristina cannot miss Hynesha on the front. Also, the product with love from Prizren has various cultural and artistic monuments built… In addition to these three products, we also have two other products, which are dark chocolate with cranberries, the design with a dancer, which symbolizes the Albanian dance… As well as the other black chocolate, which is the most unique, is ‘Flakë e Ämbël’, black chocolate with chili pepper”, she says.
Thus, Tog’s chocolates became a symbol representing Kosovo.
“Our products are artisanal and made mainly by hand. The raw material is of high quality, it is Belgian, and all the processing is done in Kosovo… The taste is very popular, there are nine different flavors, which I believe everyone finds themselves in one of them… We have had very good cooperation with the country’s institutions mainly, but also with foreign companies and our large companies… In addition to individual consumers, we have had great demand from the country’s institutions, from the presidency, from large businesses, especially for the end-of-year holidays… And recently we are also present at the Pristina airport and the Tirana airport, to be as close as possible to each consumer… 10:47 so that each consumer can take a taste of Kosovo with them”, she says.
Even the launch date of Togu was unique – it was on February 17th of last year, exactly on Kosovo’s Independence Day. But it made a name for itself in a short time, despite the fact that it is not produced by a big business.
“Despite the fact that Tog is a small family business… Tog has also managed to penetrate outside the Kosovo market. We are also at the Tirana airport and in some wineries in Tirana, as well as at the Pristina airport and in some key places, mainly wineries in Kosovo….We started with a smaller environment, with a small workshop, but we intend to expand because it is also necessary…16:10 We have already made the first export to Albania. As it should be, Toskë and Gegë, we are intending in the very near future to continue exporting to other countries, depending on the demand, which we have had demand in other countries, but initially we wanted to establish ourselves in our country”, she says.
Another special value of Tog Chocolate is that it is managed and produced by women.
Thus, anyone who intends to take souvenirs and other memories with them, from now on, also has Tog as an option.
