The value and volume index of retail trade decrease in October and November

The Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade marked an increase of 1.2% for the period January-October 2014, compared to the corresponding period of 2013.

According to the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, the Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade for October 2014 amounted 88,6 units, recording a decrease of 0,8 units or 0.9% compared to 89,4 units in September 2014. The Index decreased by 0,4 units or 0.4% compared to October 2013.

According to provisional estimates, the Turnover Value Index of Retail Trade for November 2014 decreased by 5,5 units or 6.2% to 83,1 units compared to 88,6 units in October 2014. For the period January-November 2014 the Index is provisionally estimated to have an increase of 1.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2013.

The Statistical Service also announced that the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade for October 2014 amounted 84,4 units, recording a decrease of 1,2 units or 1.4% compared to 85,6 in September 2014. The Index increased by 0,6 units or 0.7% compared to October 2013.

For the period January-October 2014, the Index recorded an increase of 2.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2013.

According to provisional estimates, the Turnover Volume Index of Retail Trade for November 2014 decreased by 4,1 units or 4,9% to 80,3 units compared to 84,4 in October 2014.

For the period January-November 2014, the Index is provisionally estimated to have an increase of 2,5% compared to the corresponding period of 2013.
