Terrorism suspect of Covasna is brought to DIICOT Bucharest for hearings

The Hungarian ethnic Romanian citizen detained on Tuesday by the DIICOT (Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism) prosecutors in relation with his intent to detonate a home-made explosive device in Covasna County, at the National Day celebrations at Targu Secuiesc, was brought to Bucharest, at the DIICOT Hqs. for hearings.

The National Liberal Party (PNL) leader of Sfantu Gheorghe, Madalin Guruianu says that the suspect, named Beke Istvan Attila, is the same person with the one who last year, on the very same December 1 National Day hoisted black flags on several buildings in downtown Sfantu Gheorghe.

The Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) director’s counsellor, Ovidiu Marincea earlier on Tuesday said that the Hungarian extremist suspected of planning an attack with an explosive device at Targu Secuiesc was for a long time in the SRI’s attention, and that the lives of the citizens were not at all endangered.

The prosecutors with the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) have apprehended on Tuesday, for 24 hours, a “well-known member of the extension in Romania” of the extremist-nationalist structure “64 Counties Youth Movement” — HVIM of Hungary, on charge that he intended to detonate in public a home-made explosive device, at Targu Secuiesc of the Covasna County, during the National Day ceremony, a release by the DIICOT informs.
