ZAGREB, 24 Jan (Hina) – Tax Administration data shows that the total number of receipts issued in retail trade from midnight to 11:00 am on Friday was 40% lower than last Friday, while the total value of receipts fell by 47%.В For all sectors combined, the number of receipts decreased by 28%, with the value down by 29%.
In the sector “Retail trade, excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles,” the total number of fiscalised receipts issued between midnight and 11:00 am on Friday was 665,971, with a total value of €7,558,147.15.
Last Friday, 17 January, the total number of fiscalised receipts issued during the same time frame was 1,102,213, with a value of €14,398,171.48.
On a comparable day last year, Friday 19 January 2024, the total number of fiscalised receipts issued during the same time frame was 940,268, with a value of €10.8 million.
The data reveals that the number of receipts in retail trade issued up to 11:00 am today, compared to last Friday, is down by 40%, while the value of the receipts is down by 47%.
Compared to Friday 19 January last year, the number of receipts is down by 29%, and their value is also down by 30%.
Receipts down 28% and revenue 29% across all sectors
The total number of fiscalised receipts issued up to 11:00 am today across all sectors was 1,625,377, with a value of €22.2 million. Compared to Friday 17 January, this represents a 28% drop in the number of receipts, with their value down by 29%.
Compared to Friday 19 January 2024, the number of receipts is down by 17%, while their value has fallen by 6%.
A nationwide boycott of shops is taking place in Croatia today in protest against high prices.
The boycott was initiated by a movement that originated from the Facebook group “Halo, Inspector,” which is led by the European Consumer Excellence Centre (ECIP). It has since gained support from consumer protection groups, trade unions, political parties, and even the Minister of Economy. The movement began with messages shared on social media in recent days. “24 January is the day of boycott in Croatia against high food prices. Citizens are called on to refrain from buying anything.”
